Symptomen waren dezelfde als van zijn broer: longontsteking, waarbij

onderzoek geen duidelijkheid opleverde, algehele verzwakking.

Heeft zelf overlijdensadvertentie opgesteld, waarin vermelding van

ridderorden als volgt: Ridder in de Orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw

Officier in de Orde van Oranje-Nassau

Commandeur in de Kroonorde van Belgie

Commandeur in de Orde van Leopold II van Belgie

Commandeur in de Orde van Verdienste van Luxemburg

drager van meerdere buitenlandse onderscheidingen.
