Cox. (See application in photo/archive notebook). This document also states that Edward lived in Peru atthis time and was a 'weaver' at the Redman Factory. From a letter to 'Eddie' from his sister Laura Black Haley (see notebook), it seems that Edward was in Percy Jones Hospital, 'Det of Pat. Ward 17', Battle Creek, Michigan in July 1943.According to his Lucas County Voter Registration Card, on October 18, 1932 Ed lived at 1625 Oakwood. On October 18, 1932 lived at 1587 Airline Ave., Toledo, OH. In about 1939-1940, after Ed had gone into the National Guard, the family wasevicted from their home because they couldn't pay the $15/month rent. They had to stay outside all night, including the little children. The army and sheriff moved their belongings back into the house the next day because it was againstthe law to evict a family while their breadwinner was in the service. When son, Bill, got out of the service he purchased the house and had it put in his name so it couldn't be taken away from the family. Some years later, the house wasput in Elsie's name while the utilities remained in Bill's name. The agreement was that the house would revert to Bill upon his parents' deaths. Bill, however, gave the house to his sister, Pat, upon their deaths as Pat had basicallyraised the three younger siblings by herself.
