Marr source: Klaus, Terry, The Family Alwood, (Sacramento CA, T.K., June1991), pg 53 for fact of marr.

pg 56 - 'CEDAR GROVE NEWS SEPTEMBER 26, 1925 M.D. Sebren and Miss Louise Pearce were quietly married Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the home of the bride, who lives just across the street from the First Baptist Church on Highland Avenue, Cedar Grove.'

26 September, 1925 IS a Saturday, but the article seems to refer to the wedding in the past tense. If the couple were married on the same day on which the article were published, would the article say the couple was married 'today?'

It is my hypothesis, therefore, that the couple was married on 19 Sep., 1925, the preceding Saturday. - D.A.Navorska - 28D1996

26 Sep 1925 - member of First Baptist Church, Cedar Grove, Caddo Par., LA; citizen of Cedar Grove, LA for 2 yrs.; employé of Shreveport Journal.

Morgan, Mildred, e-mail to David A. Navorska, (New Orleans LA, M.M., 5 S MM)

Mrs. Morgan writes, 'My paternal grandfather was George Lee Sebren, born 1848, Simpson Co., MS; died 1937, Sabine Parish, LA. He was married first in 1869 to Hannah Singletary, who died in Sept., 1875 in Rankin Co., MS. No children.

However:

At the time of Hannah's death, George was already remarried to Isabel Roe Lindsey. They were married in February, 1875, probably in Ellis Co., TX, as that is where their first child was born. I searched for a record of a divorce inMississippi and didn't find any. George leftMississippi in 1872, to go to Texas with his brother, Richard. I don't know whether Hannah was already so ill that she refused to go with him, or what their situation was. George must havegotten a divorce in Texas, ... I'm pretty sure the date of he remarriage is correct, because their first child was born in January, 1876. I have a newspaper account of Hannah's death, so it is verified.

I would also like to know when Isabel married Will Lindsey and when he died, ...'
