A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. A burial will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Pilot Butte Cemetery. Mrs. Shields was born Sept. 14, 1906, in Seattle. She married Harold Shields in 1925 in Seattle. She worked as a furniture finisher. She moved to Bend in 1971. Mrs. Shields was affiliated with St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Survivors include her two daughters, Dolores Friberg of Bend and Dorothy Friberg of Portland; 12 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter and two grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Building Fund or a charity of oneís choice. Autumn Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
