"Forrest "Bud" McGregor

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 31, for Forrest "Bud" McGregor, 96, at the Ramsey Reformed Church in rural Titonka, with Reverend Dr. Perry DeGroot officiating. Bural was in the Ramsey Reformed Cemetery.

Forrest "Bud" McGregor, son of James Henry and Jennie Christensen McGregor, was born on July 11, 1917, in Kossuth County. He married Sena Isebrand on March 14, 1939. They made their home on a farm near Bancroft. Forrest farmed forseveral years until retiring in 1984. Upon retiring, Forrest and Sena made their home in Buffalo Center.

Forrest served as a deacon for the Ramsey Reformed Church. He loved all aspects of farming, taking great prode in his crops and harvests and in caring for his animals and in providing a good life for his wife Sena of 74 years and theirfour children: Roger, Marjorie, Vernon, and Carol. Forrest was full of life and good-natured mischief. His was a life well lived. He passed away on July 27 at the Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center at the age of 96.

He is survived by his wife, Sena; son, Roger and his wife Barbara from Ames; daughter, Marjorie and her husband Carter Crittenden from Atlanta, GA; his daughter-in-law Donnette McGregor from Sioux Falls, SD; and daughter Carol and her husband Dale Heitland from Forest City. Forrest and Sena have nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Lucille DeVary of Estherville and numerous nices and nephews, as well as special friends; Karyl and Becky Anderson of Alabaster, AL, and Dale, Bev and Buckwheat Frerichs of Buffalo Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Vernon McGregor; brothers, Francis, Glen, and James McGregor, Jr.; sisters, Grace Gardner and Margaret Carlson.
