Dora Bruns, was born August 5, 1893 in Lake Township, Clark County, South Dakota, to Carl and Elizabeth Waldow.
She was confirmed and baptized into the Lutheran faith at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. In 1923 she became a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, and she was an active member of the ladies Aid.
She married Michel Bruns on May 24, 1916, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
She achieved the age of 77 years,4 months, and 19 days. She passed away December 24, 1970 at a Watertown Hospital. Services were held Monday 28, 1970 at 10:30 am. Interment at Collins Cemetery, Willow Lake, South Dakota.
Having shared in her life Her husband, one son, Carl of Willow Lake; two daughters, Mrs (Margaret) Orvan McPeek and Mrs (Grace) Ellsworth Bratland of Willow Lake; four brothers, Carl and Theodore Waldow of Bryant, George Waldow of Hetland, S. Dak., and Paul Waldow of Willow Lake; six sisters, Mrs Harry Warkenthien and Mrs Leo Kenny of Willow Lake, Mrs.Johnny Otwell of Springdield, OR., Mrs Oliver Heismeyer of Estelline, and Mrs David Kannegier of Willow Lake; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, four brothers, and one great grandchild
