Harold O. Bossman, 86, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Sunday, December 30, 2007 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. He was born June 20, 1921 to Eggel and Agnes (Kuper) Bossman in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He moved to the Coffeyville area where he spent most of his life. On December 23, 1941, Harold married Virginia Smothermon and together they owned and operated a custom harvesting business for 21 years. In 1968, they divorced. Later, Harold worked as a salesman for various implement companies in Colorado before returning to the Coffeyville area shortly after the turn of the century. Harold attended the Westside Christian Church in Coffeyville. Survivors include his two sons, Clyde Bossman of Afton, Oklahoma and Kevin Bossman of Hannibal, Missouri; his daughter, Connie Tipton of Coffeyville, Kansas; one sister, Jeanette Lippincott of Coffeyville, Kansas; five grandchildren; three great-granchildren; and four step-grandchildren. Harold has been preceded in death by a daughter, Coleen; his brother, Edwin; and his parents. A memorial service will be Thursday, January 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Westside Christian Church with Reverend Mike Elrod officiating. Friends may sign the register book on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. Cremation has taken place. The family suggests that contributions be made in Harold's memory to the American Diabetes Association. Contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
