John L. Amspacher

John L. Amspacher, 63, husband of Annie Worley Amspacher, 54 Forry Avenue, Hanover, died today at 9:45 a.m. at his home. He had been in ill health for two years.

A son of the late Levi and Ida Wagner Amspacher, he was formerly employed as an insurance agent and carpenter, retiring in 1955 because of ill health.

He was a member of the Hanover Home Association; Hanover Lodge 227, Loyal Order of Moose; Minnewaukaru Tribe 250, Improved Order of Red Men; the Hanover Fire Co. and the Hanover Aerie 1406, Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a past president of the Eagle Fire Co., a member of the Firemen's Relief Association and of the Friendship Fire Co., Pennville.

Besides his wife he is survived by six children, Clair L. Amspacher, 123 Center Street; Mrs. Ruth Alwood and Miss Mary Amspacher, at home; Roy J. Amspacher, 67 Center Street; Richard C. Amspacher, 69 Center Street, and Mrs. Velma Musselman, 56 Forry Avenue; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Quentin Amspacher, Mount Joy; Robert Amspacher, 422 York Street; Otto Amspacher, 217 Fair Avenue, and Raymond Amspacher, 449 Baltimore Street, and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Michael, Hanover R.D. 5.

Funeral services will be held at the Frederick Bucher Funeral Home, Frederick Street, Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Nevin E. Smith, pastor of Emmanuel Reformed Church, assisted by the Rev. Jacob Stauffer, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening.
