Turner County First Cemetery, SD

Turner County First Cemetery is located in Middleton Township, T98N R52W, in the northeast quarter of Section 23. It appears to be the cemetery that is called First Turner Presbyterian Cemetery by the WPA field workers in the 1940's.

This survey was found among papers at the SD State Archives in Pierre and is included on the microfilm with the WPA Enumerations. This survey is undated and unsigned. A notation by the person or persons who walked this cemetery indicates there was a lot of "German" on the monuments, mostly Bible verses. Judging by the names, it is more likely the language was Scandinavian.
