ROZELLA M. ALWOOD, 90, of Auburn, died Friday, May 8, 2009, at her home. She worked for the former Auburn Rubber Company for eight years; managed the Value Dress Shop, Auburn for a number of years; then she worked for Sheller-Globe, Grabill before retiring in 1960. She was a member of Auburn Church of Christ. Born March 27, 1919, in Paulding County, Ohio, she was the daughter of Levi and Agnes (Shull) Mercer. She married Guy Alwood on Feb. 6, 1938, in Butler; he died May 18, 2000. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald and Colleen Alwood of Auburn and Ronald Alwood of Hudson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannette and Phillip Banta of Ellington, Fla. and Shirley and Gene Link of Auburn; a brother, Thurman Mercer of Tennessee; a sister, Zora Gordin of Zenia, Ohio; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carolyn Shannon; a granddaughter, Jackie Link; three brothers, Ernest Mercer, Carson Mercer and Clayton Mercer; and three sisters, Edith Turner, Pearl Derrow and Evelyn Crooks. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Auburn Church of Christ, with calling one hour prior. John Mercer and Wayne Michael officiating. Calling also from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Feller & Clark Funeral Home, Auburn. Burial in Eddy Cemetery, Hamilton. Memorials may be directed to Auburn Church of Christ.
