Mrs. Gertrude M. Alwood
Mrs. Gertrude Marie Alwood, 68, widow of Lawrence W. Alwood, died Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Alwood, 219 West Ave., Hanover, with whom she resided.

A daughter of the late William H. and Clara Myers Biddle, she was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and the Golden Age group of the congregation. Her husband died October 10, 1958.

Surviving besides her son are a granddaughter; one brother, Paul Biddle, and two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Nace, both of Hanover, and Mrs. Jacob Mentzer, Abbottstown.

Her pastor, Rev. Arthur J. Ruths, will officiate at services Friday at 2 p.m. at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
