Note: Obituary--York-Adams--Harold F. Alwood--Hanover--Harold F. Alwood, 74, of 109 Hirtland Ave., Hanover, died suddenly on Tuesday, Aug 23, 1988, at Hanover General Hospital. Born in Hanover, he was the son of the late John and EmmaHeist Alwood. He was the husband of Geraldine R. Myerly Alwood. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, the AARP No. 669, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and a life member of the Hanover Fire Company No. 1.He was employed as a clerk with the Hanover Post Office for many years prior to his retirement. Surviving also is a daughter, Yvonne B. Masenheimer of York; a son, Harold F. Alwood Jr. of South Hampton; five grandchildren; agreat-grandson; and a sister, Lillian Warner of Hanover. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday from Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St. with his pastor, the Rev. Eric P. Wogen, officiating. Burial will be in Rest HavenCemetery. The viewing will be Thursday evening. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 32 W. Chestnut St., Hanover, Pa. 17331 or to American Heart Association, P. O. Box 328, York, Pa. 17405.

Note: Mr. and Mrs. Harold Alwood Married May 21, 1936--Married 50 Years--Hanover--A surprise dinner was held recently for Mr. and Mrs. Alwood of 109 Hirtland Ave. The dinner was held at Talk and Town Restaurant, York, hosted by theirchildren in honor of their golden wedding anniversary. The couple were married May 21, 1936, at Immanuel Lutheran Parsonage, Manchester, Md., by the Rev. L. H. Rehmeyer. They are the parents of one daughter, Yvonne Masenheimer, York, oneson, Harold Jr., of Southampton, Pa., and five grandchildren. Mrs. Alwood, the former Geraldine Myerly, is daughter of the late Paul and Cora Myerly, and Alwood is the son of the late John and Emma Alwood. Children 1. Yvonne Barbara Alwood 2.
