Delma Viola Iben was born on a farm northwest of Lennox, on Feb. 25, 1923, the daughter of Clara (Dede) and Theodore "Ted" Iben. She grew up in this area attending rural school and graduating from Lennox High School in 1941. She then worked for the Saul Balin Store.

On Jan. 4, 1944 she married Floyd Buse at Turner County First Presbyterian Manse in rural Davis, SD.

The couple lived on a farm south of Lennox and then moved to a farm north of Lennox in 1952. After retiring the couple moved into Lennox on Dec. 14, 1988. Delma's death ended a marriage of over 55 years.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Clara, in 1941, father, Ted in 1974, and her step-mother, Tena Gustafson in 1995.

Having had a lengthy battle with cancer, Delma died on Aug. 2, 1999, at the Sioux Valley Foundation Hospice Cottage in Sioux Falls. She attained the age of 76 years, five months and eight days.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Floyd, two daughters: Sharon Faye Moore and her husband, Gordon, of Centerville, SD and Linda Raye Parker of Pittsburgh, PA; five grandchildren; one sister, Marilyn Fenner and her husband, James, of Littleton, CO and one step-brother, LaRoy Gustafson of Hayti, SD.
