Mildred Mavis Wiltfang, age 82 of Grundy Center, Iowa passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 at her son Michael's home, in Fridley, MN.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday March 30, 2012 at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center, Iowa. Burial will follow at the Wellsburg Reformed Church in Wellsburg, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Thursday March 29, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center.

Millie was born on March 10, 1930 in Wellsburg, Iowa. She was the daughter of Cornie and Jennie Kuper. Millie graduated from Wellsburg High School with the class of 1947. Shortly after high school she worked as the social editor of the Grundy Register and as a switch board operator in Wellsburg. Millie was joined in marriage to Calvin Wiltfang on January 4, 1950 at the Wellsburg Reformed Church. They made their home in Grundy Center and welcomed four sons into their family.

After she was married, Millie worked for a few years as a nursing assistant at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital. She then chose to stay home to be a full-time mother to her children. In 1970, Calvin and Millie started a home improvement and construction business known as Wiltfang Home Center. She worked for the business as its Home Interior Decorator for over 25 years.

Millie was an active member of Bethany Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder and an active member of the Bethany Presbyterian Women's Group. Millie loved crafts and being a member of The Card Club. Her true joy came from spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed and long remembered for her smile, laughter and her ability to make everyone feel special.

Millie is survived by her sons, Michael (Linda) Wiltfang, Mark (Barb) Wiltfang, Jeffrey Wiltfang and John Wiltfang; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Chad) Good, Bryan, Kaitlin, Nick and Chloe Wiltfang; her great-grandsons Andrew and Josiah Good; her sister Lillian Kinion; many nieces and nephews; her brother-in-law Dr. Bernhard Wiltfang; her sister-in-law Berniece Baker and her special friends Betty Wolthoff and Ray Huisman.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Calvin; sister Irene Huisman and a baby brother.
