Funeral services for Kathryn Mary Engelby, age 87, of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 14, 2015 at St. Theodores Catholic Church. Fr. Russell Scepaniak will officiate. Interment will be in St. Theodores Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 p.m., Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Kathryn died on Monday, November 9, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Kathryn Mary Engelby was born on April 2, 1928 in Ledyard, IA, the daughter of Timothy and Catherine (McGuire) Doocy. She went to school there and graduated from Ledyard High School in 1945. She then attended Estherville Community College. On November 9, 1948 Kathryn was united in marriage to Vincent Engelby in Ledyard. After coming to Albert Lea Kathryn worked at the Donut Hut, for the Northside School, and for the Freeborn County Shopper for 13 years. She was very active in the Women of the Moose, Chapter1364, having held the position of Senior Regent from 1984-85 and many numerous other offices. She was a member of St. Theodores Catholic Church and the Auxiliary. Kathryn enjoyed volunteering. Blessed be her memory.

Survivors include her husband Vincent; her children Sandra (Sherwin) Brandt, Arden (Debra) Engelby, David Engelby, Darwin (Dawn) Engelby, and Michelle (Allen Karge) Engelby; grandchildren Lee Brandt, Shane (Liz) Brandt, Cory (Sarah) Brandt, Scott (Elis) Brandt, Shawn Marie (Shawn Michael) Cochran, Brian (Stephanie) Engelby, Chad Engelby, Robyn McComb, Amber Engelby, Heather (Adam) Quimby, Sara Engelby, Brady (Ashley) Engelby, Christopher Karge, and Noah Karge; great-grandchildren Alysha (Ryan) Patterson, Kaden, Kesley, and Kora Brandt, Truman and Iris Brandt, Brynja and Leighton Cochran, Carter McComb, Kyler and Liam Quimby, Blake Schulz, and Chase Karge and two great-grandsons on the way; sisters Georgia (Carlyle) Engelby, Shirley (Darryl) Fenstemaker, Delores (Roger) Schwab, and Diane Krosch; brother Thomas Doocy; and many nieces and nephews.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughters Jodie and Hannah, four brothers and two sisters.
