Raymond Saienga, 75, of Watson, died Thursday, March 7, 2002, at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo. Funeral services were at 11 am on Tuesday, March 12, at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo with the Rev. Paul Woolverton officiating. Music was provided by organist Wilma Bosch and soloist Louvica Nash. Musical selections included "Precious Lord, Take My Hand," "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," "Beneath the Cross of Jesus" and "In the Garden," Casketbearers were Straley, Brustuen, Harvey, Hefti. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Raymond Earl Saienga was born on March 7, 1927, in Chippewa County to Edward and Saienga. He grew up in Chippewa County and attended rural schools. He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1945. He served in the United States Navy. In 1948, he married Blanche Dodd at the Rosewood Methodist Church. Following her death, he married Lavina Hasner at Clarkfield Lutheran Church in 1964. Following her death, he married Hefti on Jan. 12, 1980, at Rosewood United Methodist Church. He farmed for many years and worked as a federal meat inspector for 20 years before retiring in 1993. He was a member of Rosewood United Methodist and later the United Methodist Church in Montevideo. He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife; his mother of Montevideo; children; stepchildren; 25 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a sister.
Preceding him in death were his father; two wives; and an infant daughter, Evelyn. Anderson Funeral Home of Montevideo was in charge of the arrangements.
