"Henrietta Hildreth (Klever) Saienga

Henrietta Hildreth Saienga, the daughter of Bertus and Jessie Hildreth Klever, was born May 30, 1921 in Berlin, ND. Her childhood years were spent in the communities of New Haven CT, Atkinson, NE, Mount Pleasant, MI, Windsor, CT Hartford, CT until moving to Melvin, Iowa, where she graduated from Melvin High School in 1938.

Henrietta married Ralph Emory Saienga on December 19, 1940 in Melvin, Iowa. Following their marriage, they lived in the communities of Melvin IA, Watson, MN, back to Melvin and Bagley, IA, before settling in Sutherland, Iowa. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. Henrietta was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sutherland. Henrietta was active in Home and Hobby Club and United Methodist Women, as well as having served on the board of the United Methodist Church. Her great loves were her husband, her daughters, their families, and coffee with her friends. Henrietta and Ralph enjoyed many years of camping and canoeing. Henrietta spent many winter evenings knitting and crocheting memories for family and friends. In the summer, her passion switched to planting and tending to her garden and flowers.

Mrs. Saienga passed away at the Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee, Iowa on Saturday May 1, 2004 at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ralph; one sister, Eleanor Pyle and a grandson, Jeffrey Rahbusch.

She is survived by her 5 daughters: Judy Langley of Hartley, IA, Gloria and her husband, Harold Rahbusch of Sutherland, IA, Kathryn Saienga of Tucson, AZ, Jeanne and her husband, Donald Sittner of Walsenburg, CO and Julie Rehder and friend Harold Gilmore of Albuquerque, NM; and special family friend Hugh Johnson of Hartley, IA; her grandchildren: Tricia Duffield, Tracy Hodson, Rae Jean Vos, Ryan Rahbusch, Timothy Saienga, Alicia O'Herron, Cody Perry and Heather Rehder; great grandchildren: Peter John Vos, Jade Vos, Maggie Lambert, Kolie Perry and Cecilia Hodson; and other relatives and friends.
