Birth about 1613 England Reason: ORIGIN UNKNOWN--NOT FROM TEWKESBURY FAMILY. PLEASE READ SOURCES. Great Migration estimates his birth as "by about 1613 (based on estimated date of first marriage)." This is the best source we have for his birth. The book "Phelps Family of America" groups George in the Tewkesbury family without any evidence. A child named George is NOT found in the Tewkesbury Abbey records. "Great Migration" does not claim to know his origins other than the Dorset area.

Death 8 May 1687 Westfield, Massachusetts Bay Colony, ...

Reason: Great Migration states his death is "Westfield 8 May 1687." Remember the time period--no counties, no United States when they settled. Hampden County was split from Hampshire County in 1812. "Hampshire County was constituted in 1662 from previously unorganized territory comprising the entire western part of Massachusetts Bay Colony" (wikipedia) Massachusetts was formed in 1788.
