"Edward J. Elcock was born on a farm four miles south of Lennox, South Dakota on April 4, 1890, the son of Ezra and Alma Elcock. He attended rural school and grew to manhood there.

On July 21, 1920 he was united in marriage to Remda Schneiderman of Lennox. Following their marriage the farmed south of Lennox. In 1960 the retired and moved into Lennox where they have since made their home.

He attended Calvary Baptist Church of Lennox when his health allowed. He was a veteran of World War I.

Following a short hospitalization, Mr. Elcock died suddenly in a Sioux Falls hospital on November 16, 1973. He attained the age of 83 years, seven months and 12 days.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son: Lawrence Robert Elcock, on March 11, 1948 and one granddaughter.

Surviving are his widow, Remda; two sons: Delmer Elcock of Hurley and Clifford Elcock of Lennox; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Claude L. Elcock and William J. Elcock, both of Lennox."
