Anna Marie Schipper

Anna Marie Schipper, age 80 of Brighton, CO, formerly of George, IA, died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Brighton Care Center in Brighton, CO.

Memorial Service will be 10:30 am, Friday, May 22nd at Hope Reformed Church in George, IA, with Rev. David Vander Laan officiating.

Burial will be prior to service at Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George, IA.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 21st from 2:00 to 8:00 pm, with the family from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Jurrens Funeral Home of George.

Anna Marie Schipper was born February 22, 1929 in Sibley, Iowa, the daughter of Mike and Clara (Kampmeyer) Frick.

She was raised in the Sibley area and graduated from Sibley High School in 1947. She continued her education in Estherville Junior College where she received her teacher's certificate. She taught county school for two years in a one room school house near Ocheyedan, IA.

Anna was married on May 4, 1948 to George Schipper. Six children were blessed to this union. Anna and her family lived in Ocheyedan, IA from 1948 until they moved to George, IA in 1967.

In 2008 they moved to Brighton, CO.

During their time living in George, IA, Anna worked at Tarko Company from 1979 to 1995. There she enjoyed painting porcelain dolls and all of Anna's grandchildren received a doll she painted especially for them.

Anna was a member of Hope Reformed Church in George, IA, active as a Sunday school teacher, catechism teacher, Esther Circle member and Bible Study leader. She also was a Den Mother with Cub Scouts of America. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, flowers, golfing and genealogy. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 61 years, George Schipper of Brighton, CO; five children, Mary (Larry) Louscher of Brighton, CO, Mark (Joni) Schipper of Kansas City, MO, Marcia Schipper of LaVista, NE, Merlyn (Gloria) Schipper of Vacaville, CA and Marlene (Craig) Schmidt of Sergeant Bluff, IA; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Frick; a brother-in-law, Cal Schipper; and several other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Clara Frick; her son, Marvin Schipper; and a brother, Mike "Pete" Frick Jr.
