Arnold V Hall, 91, of Pequot Lakes, MN, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015. On Saturday, November 14, 2015, a celebration of Arnold's life gathering and luncheon will be held at Kline Funeral Home in Pequot Lakes from 11 AM to 1 PM. A family graveside burial with military honors will take place at Our Savior's Lutheran Church Cemetery before the celebration of his life as per Arnold's request.

Arnold was born on January 31, 1924, in Duluth, MN. At the age of 4, he and his 2 year old brother, Wesley, were orphaned. He shared stories of his experiences in orphanages and on the orphan train ride through Minnesota stopping at small towns and being taken off the train to be picked up by farmers to work for the summers. He worked at various farms during the summers and one summer he was taken on by the Dirk's family to work on their farm in Pequot Lakes. Arnold enlisted in the United States Army in March of 1942. He served during World War II in the 90th Infantry Division in the European Theater of Operations. He was in the Battle of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge as these operations took him across France, Belgium and into Germany. Arnold came back to Pequot Lakes after the war to again work on the Dirk's farm and marry Martha Dirks.

Arnold and Martha had two sons, Allen V Hall (Laurie) and Bob Hall (Joy) They purchased and lived on the farm across the road from the Dirk's farm raising their sons and doing some farming. Arnold worked in the mines in Northern MN and also worked in Pine River at the Durkee Manufacturing Company for a number of years before retiring. Arnold is leaving behind his children and their wives and his grandchildren, Amy Marohn, Katie Hall Nauth (Bruce), Neal Hall (Jenny), Michael Hall (Linda), Christopher Hall (Michele), Tayler Chock (Dylan) and his great grandchildren, Maria Marohn, Lilly Marohn, Chloe Nauth, Ben Nauth, Lucy Hall, Faith Hall, Mason Marshalla, Kayla Hall and Gracie Hall, who called him "Papa Farm" and loved going to the farm to ride ATV's, sit on the BIG tractors, have donut parties with him and he always had a stuffed animal or toy for them. Arnold is predeceased by his wife, Martha (2011), his brother, Wesley and daughter-in-law, Dawn Hall.

Arnold's love for children and pets leads us to request that any memorials would be preferred to any children's organization or an animal rescue project of your choice.

Arnold's love, wit and practical joking and will be missed.
