Funeral services for Lola (Mammenga) Wieman, 85, of Marion, were Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at Calvary Reformed Church in Monroe. Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery near Canistota.

Mrs. Wieman died Sunday, Aug. 15, at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion.

Lola Margaret Watson was born Feb. 16, 1919, to Thomas Lewis and Nancy (Wieland) Watson, near Canistota. She was a member of Riverside Methodist Church. She married John J. Mammenga in 1937. They farmed in McCook County until his death in 1961. She later married John H. Wieman; he died in 1982.

She entered the Tieszen Memorial Home in June 2000 after suffering a couple of strokes.

Mrs. Wieman is survived by her children: Margret (George) Griebel, Monroe, Jerald (Karen) Mammenga, Mesa, Ariz., Mary (Don) Dorsman, Garretson, Doris (Duane) Carlson, Sioux Falls, Norma Hermanson (special friend, David Peterson) Centerville, Terry (Sandie) Mammenga, Billings, Mont., Nancy (Steve) Unruh, Marion, and Jeffrey (Lisa) Mammenga, Pierre; two sisters, Olive Tarrell, Canistota, and Mildred Johnson, Yankton; two brothers, Gilbert Watson, Canistota, and Don Watson, Marion; 23 grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 13 step great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law Gertrude Rurode, Colton, and Grace Mammenga, Canistota.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; a son, John Jr.; a grandson, Delwin Dorsman; a daughter-in-law, Jeanne Mammenga; and a son-in-law, Eugene Hermanson.

Walters Funeral Home, Marion, was in charge of arrangements.
