Funeral service for Jacob Dykstra was held on Monday, Nov. 28, 1960.

Jacob Dykstra was born Sep. 7, 1869 in Holland. At 11 years of age he came to the United States and lived in Iowa for some time.

On Feb. 12, 1896 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Van den Berge. In 1907 they moved to South Dakota and in 1920 to the vicinity of Monroe.

The past six months he resided at the Good Samaritan Home in Lennox, where he passed away on Thursday morning, Nov. 24, 1960 having reached the age of 91 years, 2 months and 17 days.

He leaves to mourn; two sons, Edward, Everly, IA; Henry, Monroe; three daughters; Nettie Schaafsma, Castle Rock, WA; Elsie Eichorn, Sioux Falls and Gertrude Wieman, Canistota; 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Jesse Wesseling of Stickney.
