Theresa E. Gunderson, age 92 of Sioux Falls passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM Saturday, February 14 at St. John American Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. The family will be present for visitation on Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls.

Survivors include her children, Keith (Mary) Gunderson, Hermosa, SD, LeRoy (Kathy) Gunderson, Watertown, SD, and Judy (Robert) Kirkman, Sioux Falls; grandchildren, Greg (Christa) Gunderson, Sioux Falls, Kate (Adam) Derrick, Monroe, SD, Holly Gunderson, Chandler, AZ, Beth (Jason) Odegard, Egan, MN, Katrina Brown, Denver, CO, and Patrick Kirkman, Lennox, SD; sister, Florence Wheeldreyer, Sioux Falls; eight great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harvey Gunderson, one sister, and one brother.

Theresa'a Obituary
Theresa E. Gunderson, age 92 of Sioux Falls passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM Saturday, February 14 at St. John American Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls with burial at Rosehill Cemetery in Parker, SD. The family will be present for visitation on Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. Theresa E. Wieman was born January 4, 1923 at Canistota, South Dakota to Elkie and Mattie Wieman. She grew up and received her education in the Canistota Rural School. On August 14, 1943 she was united in marriage with Harvey Gunderson at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tampa, Florida where Harvey was stationed in the Army before World War II. From this union, the couple was blessed with three children, Keith, LeRoy and Judy. After the war, the couple moved back to South Dakota and farmed in Parker, and Marion, South Dakota before retiring after 26 years. The couple then moved to Sioux Falls in 1971. It was during this time that Theresa started her employment at the Dixie Bake Shop where she worked for eight years. Theresa really enjoyed going on camping trips with her church friends. The couple also enjoyed traveling across the country. Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Keith (Mary) Gunderson, Hermosa, SD, LeRoy (Kathy) Gunderson, Watertown, SD, and Judy (Robert) Kirkman, Sioux Falls; grandchildren, Greg (Christa) Gunderson, Sioux Falls, Kate (Adam) Derrick, Monroe, SD, Holly Gunderson, Chandler, AZ, Beth (Jason) Odegard, Egan, MN, Katrina Brown, Denver, CO, and Patrick Kirkman, Lennox, SD; sister, Florence Wheeldreyer, Sioux Falls; great grandchildren, Hannah and Camille Gunderson, Joseph Gunderson Jones, Cora and Stella Odegard, Katherine and Will Brown, and Briar Kirkman; and a host of relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harvey Gunderson, and two brothers.
