Louie, the son of Will and Hilda Freese Schoorman, was born in 1907 in Ackley, Iowa. The family moved to Fostoria in 1906 and he spent his childhood there.

Louie married Viola Wilson in 1931 and following their marriage, they moved to Everly. He farmed there until 1950, at which time they moved south of Spencer. Viola died on Spetember 7, 1951.

Louis married Marian C Barie on Dec 28, 1954 in Spencer. He continued farming until his retirement in 1968. They remained on the farm until Dec 1978, at which time he moved into the Longhouse Residence.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Viola; and his parents.

He is survived by his wife Marian; and two siblings, John and Ruby.
