"Velma M. Stroebel April 29, 1939 - February 27, 2021

Velma M. (Huber) Stroebel was born April 29, 1939, in rural Elmore, Minn., the daughter of Charles A. and Lucile R. (Thompson) Huber. She grew up on the family farm near Elmore and graduated from Elmore High School in 1957. After graduating she worked at the egg hatchery and babysat. While babysitting she met the love of her life, Marvin Stroebel.

Velma and Marvin were united in marriage on June 4, 1961, at the Huber family farm. They moved to Titonka to start their family. Velma stayed at home with their two children. She enjoyed cooking for them and always made sure they had enough food and water.

Velma enjoyed gardening, flowers, bird watching, canvas painting, and animals. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed taking motorcycle trips with Marvin.

Velma died Saturday, February 27, 2021, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice. She was 81.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Marvin of Titonka; children, Kenneth and wife Kim of Mich. and Dennis and his wife Darla of Titonka; grandchildren, Chris Stroebel, Tiffany Stroebel, and Lucas Stroebel; brothers, Russell (Barbara) Huber of Elmore, Charles (Patricia) Huber of Elmore, Eldon (Sally) Huber of Elmore, Vernon (Dang) Huber of Elmore, Gene (Mavis) Huber of Elmore; sisters, Helen (Tom) Syverson of Blue Earth and Joyce (Tom) Henderson of Chanhassen; sister-in-law, Delores Huber of Elmore, and many nieces and nephews.

Velma was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Sr. and Lucile Huber and brother Lawrence Huber.

A funeral service was held March 3 at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Titonka. Burial was in Buffalo Township Cemetery, Titonka. Online condolences may be left at oakcrestfuneralservices.com"
