J. Emory Burk 78, Emory, husband ot the late Grace Taylor Burk, died Sept. 11, 1963 at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Melvin Moxley, Mt. Airy. Mr. Burk was a son of the late John and Annie Harvey Burk. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Arcadia, and was Sunday school superintendent and teacher for a number of years. He was a member of the Arcadia Volunteer Fire Co.

Surviving, in addition to Mrs. Moxley, are three other children, Mrs. Park Bailey and Woodrow Burk, Upperco, and Wilbur Burk, Finksburg; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a sister, Mrs. Clara Fowble, Hampstead. Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Arcadia, Saturday, Sept. 14 at1 p.m. The Rev. Nathan Kale, pastor of Upperco Lutheran parish officiated, assisted by the Rev. Donald Plank, pastor of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, Mt. Airy. Burial was in St. Paul's Chureh Cemetery.
