"(Wright Connection) 1824. Moved to Seneca County, OH where he entered from the government the land on which Republic now stands. After 5 years, moved "west" to the valley of the Maumee, landing at Damacus, in Henry County in the years of 1832 to 1834, before what is now Liberty Township could be purchased for settlement. They cut their way for 7 miles northwest along the Indian trail and settled in what was then Lucas County, now York Twp., Fulton County. John farmed but was also a cabinet maker. He made chairs for the Courthouse in Napoleon Ohio, county seat of Henry Co. He died in Fulton Co. and is buried in the Raker Cemetery Swan Creek Twp. Mary died at the same place and is buried there with her husband.
