Rhea D. Nederhoff, 71, of Wellsburg, Iowa, died from natural causes on Monday, March 8, 2004 at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley.

Rhea was born October 21, 1932, in Grundy County, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Nettie H. (Riekena) Okones. She attended Wellsburg Public School and graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1951 as the Valedictorian. Rhea lived on the family farm from her birth until 1955.

On February 23, 1955, Rhea was united in marriage to Willis S. Nederhoff at First Christian Reformed Church, rural Wellsburg. Together they farmed northwest of Wellsburg from 1958 until 1988. In 1988 they moved to Wellsburg. On April 15, 1995, her husband Willis died. Rhea continued to live in Wellsburg until January 2004.

Rhea was a member of United Reformed Church in Wellsburg. She loved her grandchildren. Rhea spent most of her time caring for other people. She enjoyed gardening and reading, and she also loved animals.

She is survived by three sons Mark Nederhoff and his wife Heidi of Wellsburg, Iowa; Rick Nederhoff of Wellsburg, Iowa; Kent Nederhoff and his wife Darla of Wellsburg; one daughter Lori Jungling and her husband Jay of Altoona, Iowa; nine grandchildren Stephanie, Melanie, Tiffanie, Cortanie, Whitanie, Braidyn, Taylor, and Shelbi Nederhoff, and Klaire Jungling; and one sister Janice Diekman and her husband Wayne of Aplington, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Willis; and one brother Stanley Okones.
