"Riekena Dies; Services Set At Wellsburg

WELLSBURG - (Special) - Evert Rieken, 69, a Wellsburg resident most of his life, died at him [sic] home at 2 p. m. Thursday following a heart attack. Services will be Saturday at 12:30 p. m. at the home and later at the Wellsburg Reformed Church with burial at Shiloh Cemetery.

Mr. Riekena was born west of Wellsburg Aug. 29, 1883, and was married to Mary Roff [sic] at Monroe, S. D., March 6, 1909. They lived near Monroe two years and then moved to his family's farm, where they lived until they retired to Wellsburg 12 years ago.

Surviving are the widow; four children, John E. and Emery Riekena and Mrs. Melvin Tack of Wellsburg and Mrs. Fred Walburn of Grundy Center; 10 grandchildren; one sister and two brothers, Miss Annie Riekena and W. J. Riekena, Wellsburg, and Fred, Monroe, S. D."
