Op 29 augustus 1878 vestigt Douwe Visser, schippersknecht, vanuit Tietjerk in Leeuwarden, Gedempte Keizersgracht B 46 Boven. Op 21 juli 1887 vestigt zijn kersverse vrouw Geertje Wouters Hakse zich vanuit Beetsterzwaag bij Douwe in Leeuwarden, Nieuwe Oosterstraat B 30 resp. B 32. Op 18 juli 1888 verhuist het gezin naar Sneek. Hier wordt op 29-01-1890 dochter Henderica Visser geboren. Op 1 november 1892 verhuist het gezin van Rotterdam naar leeuwarden, Hulstbuurt Q 16, op 23 december 1893 van hier naar Maastricht. Douwe is dan ook schippersknecht. Bron: Bevolkingsregister Leeuwarden, internet. In januari 1890, als zijn dochter Henderica wordt geboren, is Douwe schippers-knecht, met zijn vrouw Geertje Hakse wonende te Sneek. Op 11-03-1911 trouwt in Onstwedde, Groningen, zoon Jan Visser, in mei 1888 geboren te Leeuwarden, met Katharina Alida Jalvingh, 21 jaar oud, geboren te Onstwedde.
