Schol, Dorothy M., 87, of Gainesville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday afternoon. Dorothy was born in Sibley, Iowa on April 21 and moved to Gainesville from Jacksonville over 20 years ago. She was the church organist, pianist, and choir director at numerous area Florida churches where her husband was the minister. She loved to garden, to cook and to sew. She was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her grandsons, Greg Schol and Michael Schol and Stephan Lunsford.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Henry L. Schol and by her children, Marlyn (Hazel) Schol of McAlpin, FL; Duane (Sherry) Schol of Fernandina Beach, FL, Kay Lynne Schol of Ocala, FL; Patricia A. Harris of Ventura, CA; Corwin L. (Vivian) Schol of London, England; Ronald (Janet) Schol of Gainesville; Philip (Anne) Schol of Laurel, MD; Mark (LaNita) Schol of Ocala, FL; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 11 AM at Ridgeview Baptist Church, 3508 NW 19th Street, Gainesville with Rev. Bill Davenport and Rev, Ray McKendree officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008 from 6 to 7:30 PM at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Ave., Gainesville.
