"Henry Hansmann, Sr. -- a brother of Dan Hansman, Sr., was born in 1864 in Berleburg Westfalen, Germany. He wa a harness maker by trade while he lived in Germany. Then,"

in 1882 he came to Minott, Illinois, and two years later to Lyon County. He farmed both north and south of George at different times. This was before the town of George had been settled, and he went to Ashton for supplies. In 1892 he returned to Illinois and married Anna Ulitzch. Anna had come to America in 1890 and made her home with an uncle in Flanagan, Illinois. Following the wedding they came to George to live. Children in the family were Henry C. (married Alice Brummer); Elsie (unmarried); Alfred D. (married Elvina Siebrands); and Anna (Mrs. Orie Johnson)."
