John C. Blum -- was born in 1855 in Obersin, Bavaria, Germany. When he was sixteen he came to the United States and stayed with an uncle in Indiana. In 1881 he went to Illinois. Lisetta Becker was born in 1866 in Westphalia, Germany and at seven came to Illinois with her parents. Lisetta and John Blum were married in 1883. Three years later they went to Kansas to homestead, but they remained there only two years. By covered wagon they traveled to North Dakota. Then in 1890 they settled on a farm three miles northwest of George.

Not pictrued are Harry (married Ceclia Barthel); Anna (married twice, Jobst Schulte and Richard Johnson); Ella (Mrs. Albert Boomgartner); John (married Mildred Boen); and Henry (married Elsie Bolte)."
