George Marshall, Golf Figure, Dies

George A. Marshall, 79, of 9638 E. D St., died Friday in a local hospital. He was born in Oshkosh, Wis., and had lived in Tacoma 62 years.

Mr, Marshall was a retired golf course manager, having served at Parkland and Brookdale, as assistant manager at Allenmore, and as an associate at the Meadow Park course. He was a former member of the Tacoma Golf Association; a member of Fern Hill Masonic Lodge 85, F&AM; and Ivy Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are his wife, Harriet; a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Kuper, of Tacoma; two sons, Albert J. of Tacoma, and Robert L. of Eatonville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nephews and a niece.

Services will be announced by Buckley-King Mortuary.
