Mrs. Zada Pitttenger, 84, the widow of John W. Pittenger, died unexpectedly at Ball Memorial Hospital following an injury to her hip a week ago. For the past three years, she had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Valeta Williamson, Ind. 67 north.

Born in Randolph County the daughter of Lyman and Rebecca Hifield Halstead, Mrs. Pittenger had spent most of her life in Hamilton Township. She was a member of Center Chapel EUB Church and its Ladies Aid Society.

Surviving in addition to Mrs. Williamson are two sons, Layden and Earl Pittenger; a sister, Frances Lumpkin; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A son, Herbert J. Pittenger, died in 1917.

Friends may call at Meeks Mortuary from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Meeks Mortuary with Rev. Joe Rousch and Rev. Max Smith officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
