They were married in 1874 at the Cullen homestead, themaiden home of Mrs. Pittenger, by the Rev. Benjamin Smith. The scene of their marriage was but one-half mile east of their present place of residence. They began housekeeping in a two-room home on a farm near Hartford City. With theexception of one year spent on the Blackford County farm, their entire lives have been spent in Delaware County.

Mr. and Mrs. Pittenger will keep open house next Wednesday, when they will welcome all friends between the hours of 2 and 5 o'clock in the afternoon. In honor of the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage, dinner will be served at noon totheir immediate family, included among them the wedding guests. Of those who attended the marriage fifty years ago, aside from relatives, only one survives, this being Bert Sheller of Dunkirk, who 'stood up' with the couple when theypledged their troth.'
