Charles J. Hoechst was a son of Jacob and Mary Ann Huffer Hoechst.

Charles was united in marriage with Florence O. Pittenger on October 2, 1909 in Delaware County, Indiana (Book 18, Page 293). Census records show that at least two children were the result of this union: Mary Ellen, born c 1912 in Indiana, and Herbert H. born c 1919 in Indiana.

Charles is listed in the 1930 census as a resident of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Florence is also listed in Milwaukee in the 1930 census, but the two are not listed together. City directory records for Milwaukee indicate that Charles lived at 2629 W. Wells Street and was employed by International Harvester Company.

Charles' death occurred sometime after 1950 and before 1955, probably in Milwaukee.
