'Marilyn J. Heitland, 62

Funeral service for Marilyn J. Heitland, 62, of Mason City will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16 at First Baptist Church, 125 East State Street, Mason City. Rev. Ron Stein will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery,Buffalo Center. Major Erickson Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of arrangement.

Marilyn J. Heitland, daughter of Aber and Della (Chilson) Halvorson, was born December 4, 1932 in Rake. She attended and graduated from Rake High School, then attended Waldorf College in Forest City for one year.

She married James E. Heitland June 4, 1951 in Forest City. The Heitland's were long-time residents of Rudd and recently moved to Mason City.

Marilyn enjoyed music, needlepoint, cooking, her family and will be missed by all who know her. She was an active member of First Baptist Church where she was involved in the church choir, the women's [sic] trio and church circle.

She passed away Monday, March 13, 1995 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Survivors include her husband, James E. Heitland of Mason City; a daughter, Lisa Engelbart and her husband, Warren, of Anamosa; a son; John Heitland and his wife Marybeth, of Madison, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Jacob Heitland, Tyler, Bryceand Jason Engelbart; a brother, Ervin Halvorson and his wife, Betty, of Burnsville, Minnesota; two sisters, Claryce Torgerson of Bode; Avis Hudson and her husband, Ed. of Lakewood, California and many nieces and nephews and in-laws.

Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, Muriel and a brother, Darwin.'
