JOHN P. HOSFELT, 83, RETIRED CLOW WORKER, DIES AT HOME HERE

John P. Hosfelt, 83, of 828 South Lawn av., died Monday at 12:10 a.m. at his home. He had been an employe of the James B. Clow and sons plant here for 37 years and retired a few years ago due to ill health. He had been critically ill onlya few days. He was born Feb 20, 1862, in Guernsey county, the son of the late Adam and Sophia Hosfelt. On Jan. 15, 1891, he was married to Frances Lawrence, who survivied. Mr. Hosfelt was a member of the First Baptist church, Plainfield IOOF lodge,Plainfield Masonic Lodge No. 224, Samaritan chapter No. 50 R.A.M., and Coshocton Council No. 110. He had made his home near Birds Run until 1915 when he moved to Coshocton.

Mr. Hosfelt was the last of a family of six children, and was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers, one son, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Also surviving are the following children, Robert Hosfelt of Pennsylvania, Regan Hosfelt, Coshocton Route 5, Martin Hosfelt and Mrs. Frank Bible of Coshocton, Mrs. Earl Beitzel of New Philadelphia; 15 grandchildren, and threegreat-grandchildren. He raised two grandchildren, Irene Cooper and Nora Bea Hosfelt, both of this city. Funeral services will be held at the Hosfelt home, 828 South Lawn av., Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. John Shanley officiating. Burial will be in South Lawn cemetery. Masonic services will be held at the home Wednesday at 9 p.m. incharge of the Plainfield Masonic lodge. Friends may call at the home.
