Obituary

Mrs. T. De Boer died at the home of her son T. T. De. Boer, northeast of Titonka, Jan. 17, 1911, aged 68 years. After a sickness of about three weeks with lung fever, she passed away, growing weaker and weaker as the days passed by. Shewas a constant sufferer during her illness and all that gentle hands and kindness could do did not prove of any avail. Mrs. De Boer was born in Germany in the year 1843. She emigrated to this country in the year 1866 and lived nearAckley and was married there to Tiddie De Boer in the year 1870. They settled down near Ackley and began farming. In the year 1882 they moved to Kossuth county on a farm where they lived until about three months before her death. Shewent, then, to live with her son, T. T. De Boer, soon after his wife passed away in September. She was a consistent member of the German Reformed church to which faith she adhered to from childhood. Furneral services were held at theGerman Reformed church Jan. 19, 1911, conducted by Rev. G. Haken, pastor of the church. Interment took place at the church cemetery beside her husband who died six years ago. She was well known to the settlers of this vicinity andGerman township. She was a kind neighbor and a devoted mother and wife. She leaves to mourn her loss two sons and four daughters and seventeen grandchildren, two brothers and one sister, besides a host of friends who will regret to hearof her demise."
