Ruth Alice Griffin, daughter of Bryan and Mary Miller Griffin, was born May 5, 1920 on a farm north of Webster City. She received her education in the Ashpole rural school of Blairsburg Township and graduated from Blairsburg Public School in 1938.

On June 9, 1943, she married Alfred Adams at Buffalo Center, Iowa. They were divorced in 1964. She resided at Des Moines, then moved to Webster City in 1959. She had worked in health care service and Dunn's Grocery Store. She retired in 1988.

Ruth is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, James and Susan Adams of Webster City; Mike and Bonnie Adams of Dodge Center, MN; grandchildren, Bruce and Julie Adams of Ankeny; Chad and Tara Adams of Dodge Center, MN; Brooke and Robert Escobedo of Columbia, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Regan and Gage Adams; brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Delores Griffin of Buffalo Center; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ray Griffin; sister and brother-in-law Kathryn and Glen Gilbert; sister-in-law Phyllis Griffin; nephew, Steven Griffin and niece, Maureen Griffin.

Ruth was baptized in the Mulberry Center Church and was a former member of the Jane Young Card Club.
