John F. Roof, 68, a native of Franklin township, died at 12:15 a.m. today at his home, 625 John st., as the result of a heart attack.

He was born Nov. 5, 1886, a son of Solomon and Margaret Kaufman Roof, and in 1908 was married to Florence Roahrig, who survives. Mr. Roof had been engaged in farming, and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church.

Other survivors are a son, Raymond Roof, Coshocton; one brother, Harvey Roof, Coshocton; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One sister is deceased.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Dawson funeral home in charge of Rev. Olan Aughbaugh, with burial in South Lawn cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and until time for services on Monday.
