PEDESTRIAN KILLED IN NEWCOMERSTOWN

Charles Opphile, 62, of Newcomerstown Route 2, died Saturday at 9:09 p.m. in Coshocton Memorial hospital as the result of injured suffered earlier in the evening when he was struck by an automobile in Newcomerstown.

Mr. Opphile was struck at 6 p.m. while crossing State st. in Newcomerstown. Investigating officers said Mr. Opphile was hit by an auto driven by Ralph McMillan of Gilmore.

Examination revealed that Mr. Opphile had suffered a fractured leg, head and other injuries. He was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.

The body was taken to the Ourant funeral home but no funeral arrangements had been made last night.
