"ARMSTRONG - Lydia B. Rippentrop of Armstrong, 80, died Sunday, February 24, 1991 in the Valley Vue Care Center, Armstrong. Funeral service for Mrs. Rippentrop was held in the Presbyterian Church at Lakota at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 27. Pastor J. C. Chambers, Pastor John Worth and Pastor Amanda Worth officiated and burial was in the Harrison TownshipCemetery at Swea City. The Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home of Armstrong was in charge of the funeral arrangements. Lydia Bena Tapper, daughter of Johann and Harmka Stoplemoore Tapper, was born at Kamrar, Iowa on August 12, 1910. She was educated in the rural schools and married Everett Rippentrop at Twin Lakes June 28, 1933. Mr. and Mrs. Rippentrop farmed most of their married life in various areas, the longest period north of Swea City. They moved into Armstrong in 1979. Mrs. Rippentrop was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Lakota. She is survived by six sons and two daughters: Orville, Fairmont, Minnesota; Harlan, Wake Forest, North Carolina; David, Cape Coral, Florida; Eugene, Swea City; Lyle, Fairmont, Minnesota; Dale, Mankato, Minnesota; Rosely, Mrs. HomerHenriksen, Ringsted; and Evelyn, Mrs. Darwin Nauman, Ledyard. She has 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers and five sisters: Herman Tapper, Forest City; John Tapper, Manchester, Iowa; Donald Tapper, Buffalo Center; Minnie, Mrs. Jim McQuiston, Cedar Rapids; Henrietta Reed, Cedar Rapids; Lille, Mrs. Ray Greene,Cedar Rapids; Esther, Mrs. Harm Husinga, Titonka; and Mary, Mrs. Norris Rousseau, Fairmont, Minnesota. Mr. Rippentrop died May 8, 1983. Two sons, Dewin and Dwayne, two grandchildren, two brothers and a sister are also deceased." <>
