"Jake Risius, 92

Funeral Services for Jake Risius, 92, wer held Monday, November 24, 1:30 p.m. at Liberty Lutheran Church in Rake with Rev. Glenn Smith officiating. Interment was at Graceland Cemetery with Winter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Arlene Endreland was the pianist. The congregation participated in the singing of hymns. Honorary casketbearers were Dale Anderson, Ron Anderson, Elvin Haugen, Glendon Matheson, Mark Murra, and Peter Van Gerpen.

Jake Risius, son of John and Alice (Meyer) Risius, was born April 27, 1905 on a farm near Iowa Falls. He was baptized and confirmed at Ramsey Reformed Church, rural Titonka. Jake completed eigth grade in a country school.

Jake was united in marriage to Annie Rippentrop on December 21, 1927 at the First Congregational Church. Together they farmed near Lakota, Stevens, Frost and for 42 years by Rake until they moved into town in 1977. Jake enjoyed visitingwith his friends and especially his family.

Jake passed away on Thursday, November 20, 1997 at United Hospital in Blue Earth, Minnesota.

Jake will be dearly missed by Annie, his wife of 70 years; three sons: Marvin and his wife, Frances, of State College, Pennsylvania; Norman and his wife, Marvis, of Lake Mills; Larry and his wife, Kathy, of Lafayette, Colorado; eightgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Dena Gable of Spencer; one brother-in-law, George Rippentrop of Buffalo Center; several nieces and nephews, and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; two brothers and one infant brother."
