"Jennie Schrage

GREENE- Former housekeeper and farm wife Jennie Schrage, 92, of Greene, died Tuesday (June 4, 1985) at the Charles City hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Greene, with the Rev. Rebecca Heupel officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery here.

Visitation wil be after 1 p.m. today at Reid's Funeral Chapel, Greene. There will be a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Born June 22, 1892, in Rockford, Ill., to William and Anna (Leisson) Dickman, she moved to Iowa as a child, where she attended rural Butler County schools. She was a housekeeper until her marriage, on Feb. 8, 1914, [or 18 Feb?] To Abel Schrage in Clarksville. They farmed in rural Greene from 1923-49, when they moved to Greene. Mr Schrage died April 10, 1954.

She enjoyed gardening, needlework, latch hook design and reading.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Greene, the church Ladies Aid, and various church circles.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Galen (Fern) Tack of Floyd; two sons, Roy of Marble Rock, and Merlin of Greene; and three sisters, Mrs. William (Ida) Skinner, Clarksville; Mrs. Carl (Etta) Johnson, Allison, and Mrs. Floyd (Anna) Schroedermeier, Greene; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild."
