"Sandra Bruns Juny 2 1941 - March 8, 2014

Memorial services for Sandra Bruns will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Chruch near Titonka with Reverands [sic] S. Kim Peterson officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday for one-hourprior to the services at the church. Inurnment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Sandra Raye (Watson) Bruns was born July 2, 1941, in Fenton, the daughter of Rolland and Elizabeth (Gramenz) Watson. Her family later moved to Titonka, where she graduated from the Titonka High School in 1959.

On Feb. 21, 1960, Sandie was united in marriage to LeRoy Bruns at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Titonka. After their marriage they lived and farmed near Titonka, before moving to Titonka in November of 2012.

Sandra Raye (Watson) Bruns was born July 2, 1941, in Fenton, the daughter of Rolland and Elizabeth (Gramenz) Watson. Her family later moved to Titonka, where she graduated from the Titonka High School in 1959.

On Feb. 21, 1960, Sandie was united in marriage to LeRoy Bruns at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Titonka. After their marriage they lived and farmed near Titonka, before moving to Titonka in November of 2012.

Sandie enjoyed spending time with her family, and found tremendos joy in cheering her grandchildren on in all of their life events. She delighted in making things special for others, including baking her famous 'grandma cake' forbirthdays and other celebrations and handcrafting personalized cards. She loved the beauty of the Christmas season and established many beloved family traditions. sandie was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, WELCA and enjoyed herneighborhood birthday club.

Sandie passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at her home in Titonka, at the age of 72. She was surrounded by her family, who were amazed by her grace, courage, strength and faith throughout her cancer journey.

She is survived by her husband, LeRoy Bruns of Titonka; daughters: LeAnn Bruns of Ankeny; Cindy (Greg) Hoover of Johnston; Wendy (Brad) Harms of Wesley; Patricia (Travis) Hassebroek of Buffalo Center; her grandchildren: Melissa (Scott)Hemesath; Mitchell Hoover; Megan (Nick) Ratcliff; Lindsay (Zach) Haugland; Weston and Owen Harms; and Nicolas and Paige Hassebroek; her great-granddaughter, Elliott Grace Hemesath; siblings: Jon Watson of Rock Island, Ill.; ElizabethHasty of Mason City; and Steve (Ann) Watson of Urbandale. She is also survived by several in-laws and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Hasty.

Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice of the Heartland, 1519 S. Phillips St., Algona, or to the Pancreatic Cancer Network at www.pancan.org.

Arrangements were handled by Oakcrest Funeral Services of Titonka. condolences may be left at www.oakcrestfuneralservices.com."
