John H Vogt, 88, of Holland, MN died Monday August 8, 2005 at Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone. Bron February 18, 1917 on the family farm near Sibley, IA he was the son of Henry and Anna (Donker) Vogt. He married jeannete FransenSeptember 14, 1940 in Spencer, IA.

He was raised and attended country school near Sibley. At 21 he moved with his parents to Ellsworth. After marriage they moved to Little Rock, IA and he continued to help his father farm. After his father's death he moved to Rock Rapids,IA and then to Adrian where he worked as a farm laborer. In 1948 they moved to Holland and purchased a farm in Aetna Township. In 1975 they sold the farm and moved to Ruthton where he was employed at Swifts in Marshall until 1982. Besidesfarming he worked at various gas stations and shops. In August 2000 they moved back to Holland. On August 3 he became a resident of Goor Samaritan Communities of Pipeston. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Holland where heserved as a trustee. For more than 23 years he was the township assessor for Aetna Township. Surviving are his wife; 3 sons Henry (Hank) and Sylvia Vogt, Ruthton; John Vogt of Phoenix, AZ; and Curt (Joey) Vogt, Marhsall, MN 2 daughters Wilmina (Willy) Bailey of Duluth and Pam (Craig) Haroldson, Pipestone; 3 brothers George (Anna)Vogt, Luverne, paul (Vicki) Vogt, Saskatoon Saskatchewan and Harold (Lavonn) Vogt Luverne; 1 sister Gert Aning, Luverne; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Visitation wil be from 4-8 Thursday at Hartquist Funeral Chapel, Pipestone. The service will be 10:30 Friday at First Presbyterian Church, Holland. Burial will be in the Holland Cemetery.
