Note: Doyle Dean Tutje the son of Henry J and Grace M (Ackerman) Tutje was born March 9, 1932 in the family farm near Matlock, IA. He received his elementary education from the Matlock School and graduated from the Sheldon High School in 1950.Doyle joined the US Army from 1953-1955 and served a tour of duty in Germany. On June 2 1955 he was united in marriage to Ingetta Koole at the First Reformed Church in Sheldon, IA. The couple made their home on his family farm near Matlock, where he farmed until 1987. Doyle worked as an Independent Insurance Agent for over 25 years and also worked part-time for the Midwest Farmers Cooperative Elevator of Sheldon until he retired in 1998. He passed away on Sunday December 3, 2000 at the Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon, reaching the age of 68 years, 8 months and 24 days.

Doyle was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sheldon and a past member of the matlock Reformed Church. He was a member and past Commander of the Boyden American legion, Wm Monster Post #272, past county commander for Sioux County, past Vice Commander for the 9th district and Chef de Gare for the Forty & Eight of Iowa 865.

He is survived by a daughter, Lisa and her husband Edward Oines of Canton, SD, 3 sons Darin Tutje of Sheldon, Brian and his wife Ranae of Sheldon, Alan and wife Ann Tutje of Bolingbrook, IL; 3 grandchildren Andrew Oines, Alyssa Tutje and Megan Tutje; a brother Rev Dale and wife Virginia Ttuje of Champaign, IL; Ingetta Tutje of Sioux Falls and 2 nieces Deborah and Dawn and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
